So for those of you who take a lot if not anything from my posts, I would like to say thank you for your willingness to give my opinion some thought. That requires a little bit of trust in me, so I would like to reciprocate that trust by using one of my own personal experiences in correlation too today’s topic.
So for those of you who are unaware, I am a college student here in Georgia. I attend Kennesaw State University. Anyone who attends college or is held to a restrictive time schedule knows, time management is an essential skill regarding the flow of your day. There are certain avenues that must be taken in order to get to where we are going.
I usually have a daily routine that I follow in order to get the results I wish to get in my life. For instance, I make a protein shake and 3 eggs for breakfast. I then go work out or go to class and depending on which one I choose is the direction I follow for my morning. If i workout the next half of my day will be dedicated to my studies. I study for my career.
There are so many things we go through in life in order to become what we feel we are destined to be. I workout so I can live longer and I go to school for a career that will let me live. I sometimes forget that who I become doesn’t just happen over night. Who I am everyday is what manifests who I am after my story is written.
Sometimes I wonder, what if I have it all wrong. What if life isn’t about becoming anything? What if life is about unbecoming everything that we are not. Life hands us these set of rules to follow in order to become what it is we want to be. We are so strict to follow the guidelines that we make incremental sacrifices of who we are for who we want to be.
I use to question my purpose daily, until I started reflecting on who was the person I was trying to change. I had to start reaching to my core-self in order to find my meaning and my own genetic guidelines.
Although everyone isn’t built the same, and one person’s meaning can be another man’s (or woman’s) downfall, I like to believe that there is more good in the world than bad. I believe that it is humanistic to want to do good for one another and help each other grow so our kids can have better; more prosperous lives.
Apart of making that massive shift, is being authentic in who we are and what we believe. These past couple of years I have had the dishonor of watching many people die in a foolish manner for different apparent reason. When these deaths become known by the public, the level of concern stems from the ability to identify with whoever the situation is concerning.
The fact that some of us witness people getting kidnapped, robbed and shot (regardless if their gender, race or civil responsibility). It scares me that people don’t identify as humans before anything else. It is what we are right? If we have a clear idea of right and wrong, why don’t we stand up for what we believe regardless of if it pertains to us.
I believe that before we can become anything, it is important that we be first. You guys know I am big on the fundamental element of things. The process that is required to be resilient is one that requires you to be true to yourself. Make the world a better place through your unique value. The world is waiting for leaders like you. It just doesn’t know that it needs you yet.
